The following obituary appeared in the weekly newspaper the Lawrenceburg Press published in Lawrenceburg, Indiana 28 June 1900:
Enoch Blasdel Nowlin
Was born April 15, 1832, near Cambridge, Dearborn county, now called Pella. He was the third child of Jeremiah and Pamelia Blasdel Nowlin. Mr. Nowlin spent the years of his youth and early manhood upon his father's farm, and with the exception of a few years when at school or engaged in business, he followed the pursuit of his father, who was one of the largest and most successful farmers in the community, combining prudence with economy, good judgment and industry. Upon his marriage with Jane Langdale he set up housekeeping on an adjoining farm, known as the Jacob Blasdel estate, and there he lived until the death of his beloved companion.

After the demise of his wife, to whom he was devotedly attached, Mr. Nowlin seemed to lose interest in the affairs of life. Although fond of his children and grandchildren, and ever ready to help them with good counsel and to smooth the rough places that the young are apt to meet in the pathway of life, he seemed to lose the anchor, the mainstay, of his support and existence.Soon his health failed and he became an invalid, but patiently, uncomplainingly, he awaited his time, the end which came Sunday, June 17, at6 o'clock in the morning, when a great flood of sunshine was gilding the hilltops and bathing the valley that he knew and loved so well. In the soft mellow light, calmly, serenely he passed into the great beyond to meet her whom he had lived for and the two daughters that had gone before him to bear their mother company.

Enoch Blasdel was a good son, and exemplary husband, an indulgent father. He had prospered because of his attention to his business and his habits of industry and economy. He was thoroughly a domestic man. His house was his castle, his hearth a sacred altar on which burned the fires of hospitality. His religion was duty and love to man.

In his passing away the community has lost a good neighbor, an honest, noble man, a faithful friend, and the family a loving father, and a kind brother. He leaves two sons -- Harry ? and Robert Jerry, and two brothers -- Ambrose E. of Greendale and Ferris J. of Pella.

The funeral was held Tuesday, June 19. The pallbearers were Charles Sutton, T. C. Craig, J. L. Bundy, J. W. Ewbank, P. E. Hiett and James Liddle.22

The following obituary appeared in the weekly newspaper the Lawrenceburg Press published in Lawrenceburg, Indiana 21 July 1900:
Enoch B. Nowlin, aged 68, died Sunday morning at the residence of his son, H. L. Nowlin, after a long illness. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. M. Rankin of Bright and Rev. C. O. Shirey of Aurora, after which the remains were laid to rest in Greendale.21

In the obituary of Harry Langdale Nowlin who died 26 June 1959, his parents, Jane H. Langdale and Enoch Blasdel Nowlin were listed or implied as predeceased.28

His Mom had changed his name to Pendletonwhen she remarried, just his name but not his brother's names becuase they were older and said no. But she divorced again just a few years later. So, he was stuck with the name, till when Mom died a few years ago he decided to change it back, match his brother's and nephews and nieces names. We all changed too.

So Dallas Lee Budd, our middle son, his wife is Laila Peterson Budd, baby is Anneke Rose Budd. Born Sept 7th.

They never got "formally" married...she changed her name to his and they had a celebration in her parents backyard! They have been together for 15 years now.. Hereinafter cited as "Budd, Heather."
