     John and Minnie Zummach appeared on the 1921 Canadian Census of Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 1 June 1921. John was described as a farmer and a Baptist. Their children Mertle, Agnes, Erma, Milton, Meta Vera, Lloyd Hecter and Orwell Orin were listed as living with them.15
     John and Minnie Zummach appeared on the 1931 Canadian Census of Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 1 June 1931. John was described as a farmer on a general farm. Their children Agnes, Erma B., Milton, Meta Vera, Lloyd, Orwell O. Orin (sic) and Dolly were listed as living with them. In addition, their married daughter, Myrtle Schimmens was listed as a lodger in their household.17
     Minnie Verch was recorded as mother of the bride at the marriage of Gordon Schleen and Erma Beatrice Zummach on 22 July 1931.28 Mrs. John Zumach (sic) was listed as the mother of the bride in the marriage of George Ernest Gooderham and Meta Vera Zumach (sic) on 15 November 1941.29
     In the obituary of Hilda Agnes Clark who died 30 September 1944, her mother, Mrs. John H. Zummach was listed as a survivor.30
     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper the Renfrew Mercury published in Renfrew, Ontario 22 March 1945 :
The death of Mrs. J. H. Zummach, (nee Minnie Verch) occurred at her home in Killaloe, on Wednesday, March 7, following an illness of two and a half years.
     Born April 23, 1887, she was a daughter of Mrs. Augusta Verch and the late William Verch, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
     Surviving are her husband, John Hector Zummach whom she married in 1905; 3 sons and 5 daughters: Milton of Niagara Falls, Orin of Northfield, Ont., and Hector of Killaloe; Mrs. Leslie Schimmens of Newington, Mrs. Gordon Schleen of Killaloe, Mrs. Gordon Godderham of Kingston, Dolly and Marion at home. Also surviving are her aged mother, 3 sisters, one brother and 14 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. John Clarke of Smiths Falls died suddenly five months ago and a son and daughter predeceased her in infancy.
     The remains rested at Calvary Baptist church from noon until 2:15 p.m., Friday, when a public memorial service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. C. R. Weisser. Burial was in the Baptist cemetery, Hagarty. Fitting tribute to a beloved citizen of this community was the largely attended funeral. To those bereaved we tender our deepest sympathy.22

     She was born on 20 November 1908 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Birth Registration 043632.1,2,7,8,9,10 Alternatively, she may have been born on 20 November 1910 at Ontario, Canada, according to her death registration.6
     Hilda Agnes Zummach died on 30 September 1944, in the Public Hospital, at Smith Falls, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada, at age 35 according to Ontario Death Registration 064008. Note that her stated age of 34 years, 9 months and 10 days calcualtes to a birth date of about Dec. 20, 1909, matching neither the birth date in the same document, or the one from her birth registration.11,4,2,6,3
      The informant on her death registration was her husband.6 The cause of her death was given as cerebral embolism with immediate cause of eclampsia and being diabetic a secondary contributor.6
     Hilda Agnes Zummach was buried on 3 October 1944 or 5 October 1944 at Emmanuel (aka Immanuel) Baptist Cemetery, Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, CanadaG.11,12,13,6,14,15,3
     She was commonly known as Agnes.16,5,8,17,18
     Agnes appeared in the 1911 Canadian Census of Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario in the household of her parents, John and Minnie Zummach.8
     Agnes appeared in the 1921 Canadian Census of Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario in the household of her parents, John and Minnie Zummach.9 Agnes, the bride's sister,was Maid of Honor in the marriage of Leslie Henry Schimmens andMyrtle Ray Zummach on 23 June 1930.19
     Agnes Zummach appeared in the 1931 Canadian Census of Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario in the household of her parents, John and Minnie Zummach.10 Agnes, sister of the bride, played the wedding march at the wedding of Gordon Schleen and Erma Beatrice Zummach on 22 July 1931.5
     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper The Ottawa Citizen published in Ottawa, Ontario 6 October 1944:

     The death of Mrs. John W. Clark of Smiths Falls occurred in hospital here. Mrs. Clark, born at Killaloe. Ont.. was formerly Hilda Agnes Zummach. She was married in Ottawa in Sept.. 1942. to John W. Clark of Smiths Falls, who survives. Surviving also are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Zummach of Killaloe; six sisters, Mrs. Gordon Schleen of Killaloe, Mrs. Leslie Schimmens of Newington, Mrs. George Gooderham of Kingston, Misses Dolly, Marion and Darleen at home and three brothers, Oren of Northfield. Out., Hector at home end Milton of Niagara Falls. Mrs. Clark wax educated at Killaloe and Pembroke, and later lived in Ottawa. She was a member of First Baptist church here. The funeral was held Thursday from her home here, to Killaloe where the service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Wiener at the First Baptist church there. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. E. Smalley conducted the service here.3


     In the obituary of Wilhelmina Verch who died 7 March 1945, her daughter, Mrs. John Clark was listed as predeceased.4
     In the obituary of Erma Beatrice Schleen who died 16 April 1992, her sister, Agnes Zummach, was listed as predeceased.20
     In the obituary of Orin Zummach who died 8 March 2011, his sister, Agnes Zummach, was listed as predeceased.17,21
