The following obituary appeared Reflector and Beaver Valley Advocate published in Clarksburg, Ontario 31 October 1895 :
A TRAGIC END: One of the broadest thinkers and most highly respected men that Collingwood Township has been proud to claim for many years, passed quietly and painlessly away on Tuesday night under circumstances that were most sad and startling.

Mr. Thomas B. White of the Tenth Concession, while with a number of ratepayers were discussing at Lougheed's schoolhouse the advisability of an appeal in the Holladay case, was stricken down without a moments warning. He had been ably and most forcibly advocating no appeal and it is thought that the excitement occasioned by an interrogation on the statement that he had made, was the cause of his sudden death. He had taken his seat and while Mr. Hartman was making the closing speech of the evening the latter gentleman noticed a peculiar change in Mr. White's appearance and at the same time, a fainting fit. Without another word, Mr. Hartman was at the old man's side and as he dropped over, let him gently down to the floor where everything that could possibly be done to restore consciousness was tried but without effect, for the heart had soon ceased its action and the soul of the grand old man passed from its clay tenement. For a time hope was in the breast of every man present that the spark of life might not yet have gone out, and Dr. Large was sent for in posthaste. When he arrived, however, the body was becoming cold, and heart failure had claimed another victim.

Too much can not be said in praise of the subject of our sketch. He was always true to his convictions, honest in every dealing with his fellowmen, possessed a brainy intellect and was honoured by all who knew him.

It is needless to say that the startling event created a profound impression on all present in the face of the boisterous, exciting meeting that was all but closed. The vote had not yet been taken and never will be, for who would dare disturb the quiet dead with such a paltry matter?

We hear occasionally of old statesmen, when in the course of great debate, so exciting their husbanded strength and power for the particular event, that a similar fate ensues, and are not much surprised, but to think that these uncalled for meetings, to please the whim of certain parties, should produce such results, pains to the very centre of our systems.

Our warmest and most heartfelt sympathy goes out to the wife and family in their deep affliction. Deceased was in his 71st year.28

     T. B. White, (deceased), was recorded as the father of the bridegroom at the marriage of Edward Francis White and Elizabeth Lee Burns on 1 January 1901.35
In the obituary of Frances Elizabeth White who died 21 February 1904, her father, T. B. White was listed as predeceased.36
In the obituary of Martha Smith who died 13 July 1919, her husband, Thomas B. White was listed as predeceased.37
In the obituary of Annie Sine who died 18 March 1949, her father, Thomas B. White was listed as predeceased.38,39
The following biographical information was shared at the White family narrative by George "Clare" White, March 1979:
Thomas Boothby White's (my grandfather) farm was the south half of lot l9, 10th concession, Collingwood Township, County of Grey -acquired in l847. It was known as Arch Hill. A distant White relative - Gekill - owns it and resides there now.

He cleared 7 acres and built his house and barn. He then rented the farm to William Vamplew, a brother in-law, and plied his trade of carpentry. In 1854 he married Martha Smith and about 1857 moved to Collingwood Town where my father and three of his older brothers and sisters were born. They returned to the farm in l870, on the way he promised their children that he would see that the log school house was replaced by a modern one. Twenty-five years later, he died of a heart attack while speaking at a rate payers meeting in that schoolhouse. It is still standing and has been said to be his monument. [note this is S.S. #5 Tenth Line -- Rick Moffat]

Grandfather was active in school and municipal affairs in Collingwood and in the Township. It was said that "he was always true to his convictions, honest in every dealing with his fellowmen, possessed a brainy intellect and was honoured by all who knew him"; "One of the broadest thinkers Collingwood Township has been proud to claim".

Grandmother was deaf at birth and throughout her life. She used a horn-like hearing aid. She was a great lover of flowers and plants and shells. She often recalled early times when wild pigeons were their only meat supplies. Father used to hunt them. They disappeared completely overnight forever and no one knows why or where. A very gentle, kind and loving grandmother.1

It becomes our painful duty this week to record the demise of Mrs. John Johnston of Kolapore, after an illness of only a few days. She was the daughter of the late T. B. White, whose sudden death a few years ago startled the whole community and filled it with regret.
Mrs. John Johnston was a woman of bright and cheerful disposition, tireless energy and complete forgetfulness of self when the sick were to be nursed or a friend needed her assistance. Many a sick room in the vicinity of her home will in the future ,miss her presence and ministering care. By her genial disposition she endeared herself to all who had the privilege of her acquaintance. Having had a great deal of sickness in her own family, it is no doubt greatly due to her own tireless nursing that she has been able, so far, to have kept the family circle complete.
There survive her, her mother, Mrs. T. B White of Collingwood, three sisters-Miss Myrtle White of Collingwood, Mrs. Wm. Johnston of Thornbury, and Mrs. Clifford Sine of Cobden;also five brothers-Messrs. T. B. White of Kolapore, George P. White of Idaho, Jas. L. White of Duncan, E. F. White of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert H. White of Napinka, Man. and Bert White of Rochester, N.Y. She leaves, besides her sorrowing husband, 5 children,-Misses Sophia, Ethel, Mabel and Rhoda and Master Rob.
To the bereaved ones, we, in common with the whole community, extend our most sincere sympathy.. Hereinafter cited as Thornbury Herald and Grey Report.

I am assuming that both Elizabeth Farrow's found by David Bolling in parish records were the daughters of John and Mary (or Clary) Farrow. This reconstruction assumes that the first born Elizabeth died before the birth of the second.2 She was Baptised/Christened on 26 January 1795 at Habrough, Lincolnshire, England.2
