Stanley Kelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Kelly and Wallace Boland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Townley Boland, are now in uniform, although both are under 20 years of age. They have Joined the artillery branch of the service and will report for duty at Kingston on Tuesday next. Mr. Percy Mills is attached to the same section.8

Canadian Military Service:
     Gnr Wallace Lynn Boland began military service on 26 November 1917 in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario, CanadaG, joining the 72nd (Queens) Battery, Canadian Field Artillery. He stated his occupation as a Banker. He listed his next-of-kin as Mary Jane McLean on his Attestation (enlistment) papers.2 Wallace Lynn Boland ended military service as part of general demobilization on 3 June 1919 in Dispersal Station "B", Halifax, Nova Scotia, CanadaG. He had served in France in the 18th Battery of the C.F.A.

     May was born on 9 May 1894 in Eganville, Grattan Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, CanadaG.1 May married Joel Herbert Stiles on 12 November 1913 in Victoria, British Columbia, CanadaG.3,4 She died on 2 November 1990 in Bassano, Alberta, CanadaG, at age 96.1
     Her name was also recorded as Mary Garnet Thompson.4
     In the obituary of Hannah Thompson who died 9 August 1939, her daughter May, Mrs Joseph Styles (sic) of Bassano, Alberta, was listed as a survivor.5 May Gardiner Thompson was listed as a survivor in the obituary of Robert Irwin Thompson who died 5 June 1955.6
