     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper the Arizona Daily Star published in Tucson, Arizona 13 January 1920:
FORMER TUCSONAN DIES SUDDENLY IN WILLIAMS
     Arnold Sine Passes As Result of Attack of Spinal Meningitis.
     News was received Monday by Mrs. W. C. LeFebre, wife of the city engineer, of the death at noon that day of her father, Arnold Sine, of Williams, Ariz.. Mr. Sine, who enjoyed a wide acquaintanceship in the southern end of the state, was a resident with his family of Tucson for ten years, being manager of the local Western Union office from 1904 until 1914, when he was transferred to the northern part of Arizona. The wire announcing the passing of Mr. Sine stated his death as the result of a sudden attack of spinal meningitis.
     Interment will take place in this city, where Mrs. Sine, accompanying the body, is expected to arrive Wednesday morning. Two daughters. Mrs. Charles Sweetwood and Mrs. Harry Lusk of Douglas, will reach Tucson today to join Mrs. LeFebre and Miss Grace Sine, who reside here.
     Mr. Sine, who was in his fifty-ninth year, was a native or Canada, where his early youth was passed. He came to Arizona from Portland, Ore., where he had lived for fourteen years previously. His last visit to Tucson was in November, 1918, during which time he renewed friendships of many years' standing.
     Funeral arrangements, which have not been completed as yet, will be announced later.7


     The following announcement of the funeral of Arnold Sine appeared in the Tucson, Arizona Arizona Daily Star 14 January 1920 :
ARNOLD SINE
     The funeral of Arnold Sine, ex-Tucsonan, who died Monday at Williams, will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the home of W. C. LeFebre, 73 Council street. Mrs. Sine, accompanying the body, and attended by Charles Sweetwood, a son-in-law, is expected to reach the city today rfom (sic) the north. Mrs. Swectwood and Mrs. Harry Lusk, daughters of the dead man. arrived Tuesday from Douglas and are at the home of Mrs. LeFebre, a third daughter, Miss Grace Sine, the remaining member of the family, is also here.9

     The following article appeared in the Flagstaff, Arizona The Coconino Sun, 16 January 1920 :
JUDGE ARNOLD SINE DIES VERY SUDDENLY
     Police Justice Arnold Sine, of Williams, died very suddenly on Monday morning.
     Judge Sine was night operator at the Postal Telegraph office. He left his work at eight o'clock, the usual hour, Monday morning, and went home, dying 30 minutes after he reached there. It is believed that spinal meningitis was the cause of death.
     Judge Sine was 69 years old. He leaves a widow and four grown daughters. The remains were taken to Tucson, his former home, for burial.10

     
Arnold Sine died intestate (leaving no will). The estate was probated on 9 October 1923 at the Superior Court of Arizona, Coconino County, Arizona, USA.

     The full estate was assigned to the petitioner, his widow, Jessie Ann Sine. Four daughters survived (all under age 21): Jesse Eva Sweetwood, Kate Leggett Lefebvre, Grace Agnes Sine and Janet Volume Lusk.8

     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper the Yarmouth Telegram published in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia 20 January 1922:
The death of Eliza Jane, widow of Jonathan Smith, took place at the home of her son, Mr. Wentworth Smith, of Melborne, on Tuesday, January 12th., in the 86th year of her age. The deceased had been ill for some time, suffering from a complication of diseases, from which she had failed to recover, and gradually weakened until she passed peacefully away.

She was a daughter of the late Joshua Trefry of Springhaven, and leaves to mourn their loss, seven sons, and one daughter, namely, Joseph of New York, Abram, of Whitman, Mass; Robert of Lynn, Mass; Wentworth, John and Brandon, of Melbourne, and Forman of Arcadia, and Mrs. Carrie Haskell, of Lynn, Mass; also four brothers, George and Chaleb of Springhaven, Stillman of Argyle, and Joshua of Salem, Yarmouth.

The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon and was largely attended, the service being conducted by Rev. Mr. Phinney, pastor of Melbourne United Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member. The hymns sung were "Gathering Home", "In the Sweet Bye & Bye", "Christian's Good-Night", and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought", which was feelingly rendered, while "Grammie" was being tenderly removed from the house by her four grandsons, Earl, Eldred, Gordon and Frank, who acted as bearers. Interment was made in the Arcadia Cemetery.3
