Thomas H. Pearce
Thomas H. Pearce, one of the oldest veterans of the 7th Regt., died February 13, at Tewskbury (sic) Center, Mass., and was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.

Mr. Pearce was 78 years of age; he was originally a member of the Second Company, and as color sergeant accompanied the regiment on its march to Washington in 1861. He received a full and honorable discharge December 1, 1862.

Mr. Pearce is survived by his widow, Mary J. Pearce, and a daughter, Mrs. Edith H. Langdale, wife of B. (Sic) T. G. Langdale of Tewksbury (sic) Center, Mass.3

Dean Lake, Ont. — Mrs. R. Maitland has placed away for safe keeping, a letter just received from the King along with one she got from Queen Alexandra many years ago.

Mrs. Maitland listened to the King's Christmas Day message over a telephone from a neighbor's home, and wrote a letter to Their Majesties wishing them a Happy New Year. The prized letter is the reply.4
