     On Clifton Avenue Student Is Cited On Charge Of Reckless Driving.
     Mrs. Margaret Wallace, 48, 260 Ludlow Ave., was Injured seriously and Robert H. Langdale, 36, 3405 Telford Ave, a Seabee, suffered a leg fracture and other injuries early yesterday when they were truck by an automobile driven by Edwin S. Becker, 23, a University of Cincinnati College of Law student, at Clifton and Ludlow Avenues.
     Becker, a son of Edwin G. Becker, Dana Ave. and Victory Pwky., attorney and member of the Board of Education, was charged with reckless driving and operating a vehicle with defective brakes.
     Safety Patrolmen Albert White, Elsworth Greiner and Robert Wietlesbach said Mrs. Wallace, a divorcee, was thrown 10 feet and that Langdale was hurled 25 feet. P[hys]icians at Good Samaritan Hospital said Mrs. Wallace suffered a compound fracture of her left leg, right leg fracture and possible skull fracture.
     Becker denied the police charge that he skidded his wheels after the couple was hit. He said he stopped immediately when he saw the couple step In front of his car.
     With Becker at the time of the accident were Peter Outcalt, 6247 Orchard Ln; Robert Weasel, 2152 Alpine Pl., and Miss Audrey Holzer, 6141 Fairway Ave., all UC students. Police said Becker and his companions stood In the street for more than 30 minutes, directing other traffic around the injured couple as they lay in the street, before a citizen asked Capt. Elmer Enders, Engine Co. 34, across the street from the accident, to summon aid.9

     The following article appeared in the Cincinnati, Ohio The Cincinnati Enquirer, 17 February 1901 :
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Langdale are receiving congratulations on the announcement in the Boston papers of the engagement of their son, Rev. Guy Langdale, to Miss Edith Pierce (sic) only child of Mr. M. J. (sic) Pierce, a retired merchant. Miss Pierce is a lineal descendant of one of the old Puritan families.9

     The following article appeared in the Cincinnati, Ohio Cincinnati Commercial Tribune, 26 January 1902 :
Society
     ...The wedding of Rev. T. Guy Langdale, formerly of this city, and Miss Edith Houghton Pearce, took place at high noon Wednesday, January 15, at the home of the bride, in Medford, Mass. After a wedding breakfast the bridal party left for Epping, N. H., where Mr. Langdale is in charge of a Congregational Church. A reception was tendered them by the members of the church on the evening of the 16th inst.7

Thomas H. Pearce, one of the oldest veterans of the 7th Regt., died February 13, at Tewskbury (sic) Center, Mass., and was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.

Mr. Pearce was 78 years of age; he was originally a member of the Second Company, and as color sergeant accompanied the regiment on its march to Washington in 1861. He received a full and honorable discharge December 1, 1862.

Mr. Pearce is survived by his widow, Mary J. Pearce, and a daughter, Mrs. Edith H. Langdale, wife of B. (Sic) T. G. Langdale of Tewksbury (sic) Center, Mass.3

Mrs. Maitland listened to the King's Christmas Day message over a telephone from a neighbor's home, and wrote a letter to Their Majesties wishing them a Happy New Year. The prized letter is the reply.5

     Henry had been working on Fred Summach's farm in the Avondale district for several summers prior to his conscription and enlistment in 1918. They were 2nd cousins. He probably returned to Ontario for the winters.10
Canadian Military Service - WWI

     Henry William Kuehl of Asquith was conscripted on 6 June 1918 at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, joining the 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment. He gave his occupation as a farmer. He was described as being 6' with blue eyes, light brown hair and a sallow complexion. On his conscription papers he listed his next-of-kin as his father, August Kuehl of Killaloe P.O. RR#1, Ont. He was assigned regimental number 277060.1
     On 28 July 1918, at Montréal, Québec, Canada, he embarked overseas and arrived at Liverpool on Aug. 15th. On Sep 28, 1918 he was hospitalized with influenza and was not discharged until Oct 11th.1 Henry William Kuehl ended military service as part of general demobilization on 20 September 1919 at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, intending to return to Asquith. He had served with the C.A.M.C..

Schutt died on 25 August 1921, Lot 31, Conc 9, at Raglan Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, at age 73 according to Ontario Death Registration 029094 (4th digit is indestinct.)1,3,5 The cause of his death was given as of dropsy and enlargment of the prostate gland.1 The informant on his death registration was his son-in-law, Albert Molkintin.1

     Charles and Wilhelmine Schutt appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Raglan & Radcliffe Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901, described as a farmer and Evangelic. Their children: William, Frank, Edward, Wilhelmine, Lena and Luvise, were listed as living with them. Their mother tongue was German.6 Charles M. Schutt, of Schutt P.O., was the informant on the death registration of his daughter, Lena Schutt, who died on 19 November 1908.8 In the death registration of Frank Schutt, who died on 9 July 1916, Charles Schutt was identified as his father; of Schutt.9
