She was born on 2 July 1848 at Port Britain, Northumberland County, Canada West, United Province of Canada, although more reliable sources are required.1 Alternatively, she may have been born on 26 June 1849 at Canada West, United Province of Canada, although her death registration gives her age as 55, which would indicate she may have been born a year earlier.4,5 Susannah married George Edgar Best on 11 March 1873 at Port Hope, Northumberland and Durham County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Marriage Registration 001385.2,5,6
Susannah Routley Dinner died on 8 April 1904 at Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada, at age 55 according to her to Ontario Death Registration. It shows she resided at Port Hope.4,1 The cause of her death was given as a pelvic absess.4
Her name was also recorded as Susannah Deimer according to my reading of her marriage registration.2
George and Susanna Best appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Durham County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901, described as a farmer and a Methodist. Their children: Charles E., Arthur H., Mary E. A. and Richard E., were listed as living with them.5
The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
Dinner is the most frequently used variant of her maiden name.7

     Research notes (June 2021):
Gerry Mattinson believes her middle name was Routley which was her paternal grandmother's maiden name.8
