Matilda was a widow and a dressmaker who spoke German. Emma, hwo spoke English, had been a store clerk. They had last lived in Waterloo, Ontario. They stated that they had transitted thru New York in Apr 1914 arriving there aboard the "Graf Waldersee." They had no relatives in Canada. Their purpose was to make a home in the U.S., and they were going to Kansas City, Kansas where "Uncle August Lube" lived.^6,11
