Emma's age was given as 10 rather than about 12.10 Emma M. Teichgraber immigrated in 1919 to USA.2 She and Matilda Teichgraber attempted to cross the border but was rejected on 26 April 1919 to Niagara Falls, New York, USA. Matilda was a widow and a dressmaker who spoke German. Emma, hwo spoke English, had been a store clerk. They had last lived in Waterloo, Ontario. They stated that they had transitted thru New York in Apr 1914 arriving there aboard the "Graf Waldersee." They had no relatives in Canada. Further research is required to sort out their various surnames. 1914 passenger lists give their surname as Schlüter, but when they crossed into the U.S. in 1919, their name was Teichgraber. On Emma's marriage registration she gave her surname as Teichgrover.12
