     Corporal Henry Sykes was born circa 1842 in Ohio, USAG.2,3 He was the son of John Sykes and Elizabeth Langdale.2,3 Henry died on 19 May 1863 or 20 May 1863 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, USAG, died from wounds while serving with Company H, 83rd Infantry Regiment Indiana.4,5
     Henry appeared on the 1850 U.S. Federal Census of Miller Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana, in the household of Thomas Langdall.2

Henry appeared on the 1860 Federal Census Miller Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana in the household of his mother Elizabeth Sykes.3

Corporal Henry Sykes began military service on 14 August 1862 in Lawrenceburg, Lawrenceburg Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana, USAG, enlisted as a Private in Company H, 83rd Infantry Regiment Indiana on 16 Aug 1862.6
     Other information:
The 83rd Regiment, Indiana Infantry was serving in the siege of Vicksburg from May 18 to July 4, 1863. They participated in the assault on Vicksburg May 19th, so this may have been the action in which Corporal Henry Sykes was fatally wounded.7

     John Sykes was born on 3 November 1834.1,4 He was the son of John Sykes and Elizabeth Langdale.3,2 John Sykes was born in 1836 or 1837 in Ohio, USAG, age 14 in the 1850 census, 23 in the 1860 census and 43 in the 1880 census.3,5,2 He was born circa 1838 in Ohio, USAG, according to his Civil War Draft Registration.6 John married Julia Ann Smith, daughter of Rich W Smith and Hester (?), on 19 February 1865 in Dearborn County, Indiana, USAG.7,8,9 John died on 18 January 1899 at age 64.1,4 He was buried in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, Miller Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana, USAG.1,4

     His name was also recorded as John L Sykes according to his grandson's Social Security Number application.10

     Harley Elbert Blasdel was born on 14 October 1920 in Indiana, USAG.2,1 He was the son of Elbert Clinton Blasdel and Lulu Blanche Nowlin.1,2 Harley died on 7 March 1996 in Dade County, Florida, USAG, at age 75.1,3 He was buried on 11 March 1996 in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, Miller Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana, USAG.3

     Harley E appeared on the 1930 U.S. Federal Census of Miller Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana, in the household of Elbert C Blasdel and Lulu B Blasdel.2 In the obituary of Lulu Blanche Nowlin which printed 19 May 1966, Lulu's brother, Harley Blasdel was listed as a survivor.4
