     Agnes Ballantyne Scott was listed as a witness to the marriage of Agnes Ballantyne Scott. She was born on 17 November 1861 at Bowmanville, Clarke Twp., Durham County, Canada West, United Province of CanadaG.4,3,2,5,6 She was the daughter of William Scott and Helen (?)4 Their marriage registration listed the following official witnesses: James Moffitt.7 Agnes married Robert David Moffat, son of Walter William Moffat and Agnes Graeme, on 11 December 1889 at Darlington Twp., Durham County, Ontario, CanadaG.7,3,2,5 Agnes died on 25 February 1942 at age 80.5 She was buried on 27 February 1942 at Orono Cemetery, Orono, Clarke Twp., Durham County, Ontario, CanadaG. The active pallbearers were: George Allin.5

     Agnes B Moffat and David Moffat appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Clarke Twp., Durham County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901, enumerated as a farmer and a Presbyterian. Their children Jennie I, Willie S, Thomas B, James H, Clara E and David S were listed as living with them.3

Agnes B Moffat and David Moffat appeared on the 1911 Canadian Census of Clarke Twp., Durham County, Ontario, enumerated 5 June 1911, enumerated as a Presbyterian and a Farmer. Their children Jennie, William, Blake, Harvey, Clara, Sheldon and Robert were listed as living with them.2

Agnes Moffatt and David Moffatt appeared on the 1921 Canadian Census of Clarke Twp., Durham County, Ontario, enumerated 1 June 1921. Their children Jean, Harvey and Blake were listed as living with them.6 Agnes Ballantyne Scott was a survivor of her husband Robert who died in 1930.8

     The following obituary appeared at the newspaper the Canadian Statesman published in Bowmanville, Ontario 12 March 1942 :
Mrs. David Moffat
After a short illness, Agnes B. Scott, Orono, widow of the late David Moffat, passed to rest early Wednesday morning, February 25th. She was born in Bowmanville, her father being miller at the McDougall mill. When she was quite young her parents moved to a farm in Darlington Township, north of Enfield, where she attended school. In 1889 she was united in marriage to David Moffat, who lived on the farm at Columbus now owned by Mr. Ray McLaughlin. Three years later they moved to Clarke Township and lived for years on the fifth concession. In 1927 they moved to the village of Orono where Mr. Moffat died suddenly in 1930. Mrs. Moffat had a cheerful disposition and a ready smile for all.

She is survived by her family of seven, Mrs. Geo. Allin (Jean), Mrs. W.F. Rickard (Clara), of Newcastle, Will, Blake, Sheldon and Bob of Orono, and Harve of Milton, and sixteen grandchildren.

The funeral was held from Park St. Church, Orono, on February 27th, where a large number of relatives and friends gathered to pay their last respects. The service was conducted by Rev. S. Littlewood, assisted by Rev. R.E. Morton. The pallbearers were Messrs. Geo. Scott, Gordon Scott, Arthur Ross, Clarence Werry, Kyle Squair and George Allin. Interment was in Orono Cemetery.5

     Oscar Floyd Trask was born on 20 August 1893 at Girard, Crawford County, Kansas, USAG.3,4,5 He was the son of Reuben Deforest Trask and Minerva Melissa Bennett.3,4 Oscar married Lola Faye Bass, daughter of James Bass and Mary Jane Stiteler, on 4 December 1913 at Girard, Crawford County, Kansas, USAG.3,4 Oscar died on 6 March 1980 at Cranbrook and District Hospital, Cranbrook, British Columbia, CanadaG, at age 86.3,5,6 The cause of his death was given as a myocardial infarction according to BC Death Registration 980-09-004161.6 He was buried on 8 March 1980 at Harris Cemetery, Harris, RM of Harris No. 316, Saskatchewan, CanadaG.4,5

     The following biographical information was shared at a Find A Grave biography by Darlene Hightower, 11 October 2012 :
Lola Faye Bass was born October 27, 1882 in Farlington, Crawford County, Kansas. Lola was the daughter of James William Bass and Mary Jane "Jennie" Stiteler Bass. She grew up in the Farlington area of Crawford County.

Lola Faye Bass married Floyd Oscar Trask April 12, 1913. They resided in Girard, Crawford County, Kansas until 1917. Their first two daughters were born in Crawford County. They then moved to Saskatchewan, Canada where Oscar's brother's had moved a few years earlier. They farmed in the Hill View District.

Lola and Oscar had five children, three daughters and two sons.

Lola Faye Trask died March 6, 1972 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada.6

     In circa 1966, Delbert, Vivian, Karen and Myrna were included in a family photograph.10


     The following biographical information is from my (Rick Moffat's) personal knowledge or recollections , 1998 :
I drove from PA, where I was working at Burns Foods, to Saskatoon for the funeral. However, they changed the time, so I missed the actual service. Mom didn't think of letting me know. I joined everyone at Deb and Binnie's house once I got to town.11
In the obituary of Vivian Jane Trask which printed 25 May 2007, Vivian's daughter, Myrna Vivian Summach was listed as predeceased.12 In the obituary of Karen Faye Summach which printed September 2015, Karen's sister, Myrna Summach was listed as predeceased.13

Marie, Ontario, CanadaG, moved to Manitoba shortly after their marriage, settling at Carrol near Souris.18,5,7,16 John died on 8 December 1918 at Shand, Saskatchewan, CanadaG, at age 58.9,10,19 He was buried at Souris, Manitoba, CanadaG.20

He died in Shand ,Sask from food poisoning (officially) , My mother felt he died from an overdose of Sulfer. He was afraid of getting the flu, so he burnt sulfer on the stove as well as ingested it , somehow, She said his urine was blue, so I would tend to concur with her theory. He is buried here in Souris, along with his wife, Tossie my mother and James Rainey his father-in-law."21
