     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper the Star-Phoenix published in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan 28 February 1930:
Obituary
     SONNINGDALE--The community was shocked on Monday by the death of Margaret (Peggy) Fairbrother, nine-year-old daughter of Harry Fairbrother, formerly of Asquith, the local lumber man. Falling while playing at school about a month ago, her injuries were not thought to be serious until a few days before her death when Dr. Scratch of Maymont, was called. Peggy was in grade 3 at school and was well liked by pupils and teacher at the Spartan school. She leaves besides her parents, three sisters and four brothers. Mrs. N. J. Anderson, Biggar; Mrs. A. E. Routley, Biggar, and Fred, Sidney, Ray, Norma and Leslie, all of Sonningdale.3


     The following account of the funeral of Margaret Fairbrother appeared in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Star-Phoenix, on 4 March 1930 :
SONNINGDALE.--The funeral of Margaret (Peggy) Fairbrother, 9-year-old daughter of Harry Fairbrother, of Sonningdale, took place on the afternoon of Wednesday. Service was conducted in the Spartan school, after which interment was made in the Sonningdale cemetery. Mr. Jackson had charge of the service. A large crowd attended, among whom were many children. Bellevant and Spartan schools were closed, Peggy, as she was known to her schoolmates, having attended both schools. Mrs. N. J. Anderson, sister, and her husband, of Biggar, attended the funeral. Pall-hearers were Arthur Ferguson, Edward Hout, Cecil Corrigan, and Fred Grimsdale, ail pupils of Bellevant school. Floral tributes were received from: Parents and family; Mr. and Mrs. Routley, Biggar; Bellevant schoolmates; Irene Elliott; Spartan pupils and teacher; the Sonningdale Board of Trade; Sonningdale Ladies Aid; Sonningdale United Church Sunday school; Sonningdale United Farm Ladies; Mr. and Mrs. Murphy; the Rankins and Fergusons; the Murdoffs and Osbornes; Mr. and Mrs. Hanlon; Miss Brown Asquith; Edna Riddell and the girls, North Battleford; Mr. and Mrs. S W. Riddell, North Battleford; the North American Lumber and Supply Company; Baptist Sunday School, Asquith.1
