     Introductory Overview:
William Arthur Dickson of Sonningdale is not included in the Asquith and District Honour Roll for WWI.
Other comments:
William enlisted as a signaller in the 232nd Battalion, but washed out after about 10 months and was discharged.1

Canadian Military Service - WWI

William Arthur Dickson of Sonningdale began military service on 8 May 1916 at the age of 17 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, joining the 232nd battalion as a signeller. He was an unmarried farmer. He was described as being 5' 8" with a fair complpexion, blue eyes and fair hair. On his Attestation (enlistment) papers, he listed his next-of-kin as his father, William Dickson of Sonningdale. He was assigned regimental number 1018247.1 William Arthur Dickson ended his military service on 23 February 1917 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, being classified as medically unfit and unlikely to become an efficient soldier. I presume this refers to his abilities as a signaller. He may have been training at the UofS in Saskatoon because his final pay sheet gives his address as University Farm, Saskatoon, Sask..
End of Military Service section.1
