How does one reconcile her declared parentage ebtween her marriage registration and he death registration. In the former, her father was given as Thomas Philip Leppard, born in Quebec, and her surname was Leppard. She had "forgotten" her mother's name since she died when she was an infant. Ena was listed as a spinster, so this was apparently her first marriage.

Reginald Thompson Nisbet of Bowden, Alberta began military service on 1 December 1916 at the age of 18 at Calgary, Alberta, Canada, joining the Canadian Army Medical Corps Training Depot #. He was described as being 5' 10" with grey eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion. He was assigned regimental number 523481.8
On 2 June 1917, at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he embarked with his unit arriving in Liverpool on the 9th. He trained in England untiol being sent to France on 11 Apr 1918 to join the 50th Battalion.9
On 26 July 1918, at Arras, France, he was wounded. His medical history states "Received shrapnel wounds rt. knee and left knee and leg 26-7-18 at Arras. Evacuated to England and remained in hospital and convalescent hospital until Nob. 25, 1918. G.S.W penetrating rt. knee with partial fracture of patella rt., also G.S.W. middle left leg with fracture of fibula." Elsewhere it was noted that he had slight wounds to his shoulder and face.10
On 29 January 1919, at Liverpool, Lancashire, England, he embarked to Canada on the "Baltic," arriving in Halifax on 6 Feb 1919.11 Pte.
