Joseph A. Ardapple, 61, founder of the Ardapple storage and transfer business in Lafayette 25 years ago and a former Seventh ward councilman, died at Home hospital at 10:15 o'clock Sunday morning. His death was due to a complication of diseases. He had been in poor health ever since the death of his wife. Mr. Ardapple was a patient at the hospital for 10 days.
Born in Lafayette, February 23, 1870, he was a son of Andrew and Sophia Ardapple. He spent his life in this city and before establishing the transfer and storage business that bears his name,(Photo) JOSEPH ARDAPPLE he was in the oil business. He was a city councilman during the Bauer administration. His wife, who died November 23, 1930, be fore her marriage was Katherine Garrison. She married Mr. Ardapple March 9, 1883.
FUNERAL TUESDAY
Survivors are a son and two daughters, Walter Ardapple, was connected with his father in business; Mrs. H. R. Painter, West Lafayette, and Mrs. Lewis Fenton, Chicago. He also leaves aged mother, Mrs. Sophia Decker, Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Otis Rawlings, Lafayette, and grandchildren. Mr. Ardapple was a member of the First Christian church.
The body was removed io the Soller funeral home and was later taken to the family residence, 711 Brown street, where it was announced that friends might call after noon Monday.
Private funeral services will be conducted from the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, followed by public services at the First Christian church at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. J. Newton Jessup, will officiate; burial in Springvale cemetery.1

Mrs. Katherine G. Ardapple, wife of Joseph Ardapple, residing at 711 Brown street, was stricken with a heart attack shortly after 10 o'clock Saturday night ad death ensued at 2 a. m. Sunday.
Mrs. Ardapple attended the Purdue-Indiana football game Saturday afternoon and went shopping during the evening in company with her husband. She was stricken shortly after returning home.
She was a daughter of and Elizabeth Garrison and was born in Lafayette Jan. 30, 1872. On March 9, 1892, she. united in marriage with Joseph Ardapple. The deceased was an active member of the Christian Reformed cnurcn and thee Laaies Aid Society.
The lxusband and three children, Walter Ardapple, lafayette; Mrs. K. H. Painter West Laifayette, and Mrs. Lewis Fenton, Chicago, survive, together with four grandchildren and the following brothers, Jacob Garrison, Lafayette, and Joseph Garrison, Delphi.
The body will be removed from the Soller undertaking parlors to the residence and friends may call after 1 p. m. Monday.
