Rollo Larson began military service on 23 September 1943 at the age of 36 joining the U.S. Navy.³ Roosevelt Rollo Larson ended his military service He had sailed as a Machinist's Mate 3rd Class (MM3C) on the maiden voyage of the General J. R. Brooke, a transport ship, with 3,600 troops bound for Pearl Harbor. Possibly, he continued to serve on subsequent Pacific voyages, before the ship was transferred to convey duty in the Atlantic. on 18 October 1945

He was farming with or for his brother, Orval Larson. He listed his next-of-kin/contact person as his wife, Leona Larson. He was described as 5' 4" and 140 lbs. with blue eyes, brown hair and a light complexion.²
