In the obituary of Mrs. Laurence Alford who died 24 February 1951, her brother, W. R. Swansey, of Center, Texas, was listed as a survivor.6 In the obituary of Lee Ella Swanzy which printed 20 March 1972, her brother, W. R. Swanzy of Center, TX, was listed as a survivor.2

INDIAN AGENT HERE AGAIN
William R. Swanzy Cornes to Local Agency from Arizona
William R. Swanzy has been transferred by the Indian department to Apache to fill the position of Indian farm agent which had been vacant since the departure of J. C. Hatcher several months ago. Mr Swanzy came from Whiteriver, Ariz. where he held a similar position two years.
His family, which consists of Mrs. Swanzy and their three children, will come to Apache as soon as a house is obtained. Mr Swanzy is living in the home of Mrs Laura Hart at present.
Capt. Robert Swanzy, son of Mr and Mrs. Swanzy, a flight commander in Italy, was killed in action July 12. His commanding officer had this to say of him: "He was one of the most popular men in his squadron and probably the beat pilot in the outfit." The captain's wife and baby are residing at Longview, Tex.5
