A pretty holiday wedding was solemnized here on Friday evening at the Methodist parsonage when the lives of Miss Vergene Renwick, attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Renwick of Sycamore and James Richard Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Murdock of Columbus, Ohio, were united in marriage, the impressive ceremony being read by Dr. H. H. Hough. They were attended by Miss Carrie Considine and John Renwick, Jr. the latter a brother of the bride.
The bride was becomingly attired in an orchid suit with which she wore black accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Her only piece of jewelry was a mother of pearl lavaliere, a gift from the groom.
Miss Considine chose an acqua (sic) suit with brown accessories. White carnations comprised her corsage.
Following the nuptial rites, a delectable turkey dinner was served at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Charles Rosene of this city. Places were laid for 19 at a table beautifully decorated in poinsettias and centered with a large tiered wedding cake. After felicitations had been extended the happy young couple departed on a brief honeymoon trip.
The new Mrs. Murdock is a graduate of the DeKalb Township High school and is now employed at the Interstate Aircraft in DeKalb. Her husband is also employed there.
Their many friends are extending best wishes to them for a happy wedded life.2
