Mrs. Mary Monteith, 71, pioneer resident of Killarney, and wife of George Bertram Monteith, Killarney, barrister, died Tuesday at her farm home at Petersfield. She was the sister of Mrs. J. M. Dicks, Winnipeg, and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kerr, Winnipeg.
Born In Johnson, Scotland, Mrs. Monteith came to Winnipeg when an Infant with her parents. She was married to Mr. Monteith in 1900 and had lived at Killarney many years, moving to Winnipeg and Petersfield about a year ago.
Besides her husband and sister, she is survived by a brother, James Kerr, Vancouver; two daughters. Barbara, wife of R. M. Bower, trade commissioner at Sydney, Australia; and Mary Monteith, of the provincial tax office, Winnipeg; two sisters, Mrs. Dick and Mrs. Margaret Moffatt, the latter residing in Ottawa.
The funeral service will be held Friday, at 2 p.m., In Gardiner's funeral chapel, with burial in the family - plot in Elmwood cemetery. Dr. E. M. Howse, of Westminster church, will officiate.7
