BOON - JOHNSTONE
Spring flowers and ferns were banked about the altar of Scarboro United church on Friday, February 14, in setting for the ceremony in which Vera, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnstone, became the bride of Mr. Herbert Boon, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Boon. Rev. W. H. Stratton officiated.
As Mr. T. F. Beresford, organist, played "The Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin, the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. Her gown, of white Chantilly lace, was cut on simple lines, and featured a bolero jacket of white transparent velvet.
Tiny bows of the same material trimmed her dress. She wore her mother's wedding veil of fine silk net, and long lace gloves. Briarcliffe roses and white heather formed her bouquet.
Miss Alice Maxie, the bridesmaid, was in Marina blue sheer, her frock made with a high fitted waistline and a full skirt She wore a flower cap of pink and white buds, and carried an arm bouquet of pink and white carnations. Mr. Arthur Miller attended the bridegroom, and Mr. Archibald Knight and Mr. George Johnstone were the ushers. During the signing of the register, Mr. Robert Townsend sang "Because."
A wedding supper for 62 guests was served afterwards at the Mandarin Gardens. The bride's table was decorated with spring flowers and pink and white tapers, and centred with a three-tiered wedding cake.
Mr. and Mrs. Boon spent their honeymoon in Vancouver and Victoria, and are making their home in Calgary.
For travelling, the bride changed into a fine wool frock in military blue, with a fitted coat of black boucle, and a matching hat and accessories.4

As Mr. T.
