Mary Patchett was a granddaughter of Samuel Patchett according to the 1871 census. Another researcher has her mother as Martha Patchett, but I have not seen any sources to support this. I am leaving out her links to parents until I find some documentary evidence.
     In addition, she may be the Mary Patchett that died in 1871.3,4

     He was born on 22 January 1882 at Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. However, when he enlisted he gave his birth place as Cleethorps. Elsewhere in his service file, he gives Grimsby as his birthplace.7,5,1,2,3 Edward married Mida Wilkens in 1903 or 1904 at England. In the 1911 census, Mida reporetd that they had been married for 7 complete years, meaning they were married sometime before 02 Apr 1904.8,1,2,3,9
     Edward Boone died on 17 March 1963, possibly in Calgary, at Alberta, Canada, at age 81.1

Military Service - WWI Canadian Army

     Edward Boon of Claydon P.O., Saskatchewan began military service on 27 May 1916 at the age of 34 at Eastend, RM of White Valley No. 49, Saskatchewan, Canada, joining the 209th Overseas Battalion. He had no previous miitary experience. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker, although he is listed as a farmer in later papers in his service file. On his Attestation (enlistment) papers, he listed his next-of-kin as his wife, Mida Boon of Claydon P.O., Saskatchewan. He was described as being 5' 7 1/2" and 138 lbs. with greyish blue eyes, brown hair and a sallow complexion. His service number was 253083.8
     On 15 August 1917, at France, he was gassed while serving with the 102nd Battalion and was admitted to No. 12 Field Ambulance, a forward casualty station. On the 18th he was treated at Dannes Camiers hospital in the Pas-de-Calais area. Later, on 07 Sep, he was moved to the Canadian Military Hospital at Eastbourne, England.10
     On 15 April 1918, at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he disembarked from the "Mauretania," and proceeded to Eastend where he was on leave awaiting his dishcarge.11 Pte. Edward Boon ended his military service In his 19 Jan 1919 application for the War Service Gratuity, he stated, "I left Canada with the 209th Battalion early in OCt 1916 and we arrived in England about Nov 26th after being in England about 3 weeks I was draftered into the 102nd Battalion and arrived in France Dec 6th, 1916...I served in the 209th Battalion from May 27th 1916 until early in Dec. 1916. Served in the 102nd Battalion in France from Dec 6th 1916 until Sep 7th 1917. I was on the 102nd strength until arrival in this county (Canada) in May 1918" on 3 June 1918 at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, when he was discharged as medically unfit due to his gassing.

     Edward Boone appeared on the 1891 British Census of Grimsby, at Lincolnshire, England, in the household of his parents, Edward and Innocent Boone.6

Edward Boom (sic) appeared on the 1901 British Census of at England, Lincolnshire, in the household of his mother Innocent Boom (sic), and he was listed as a joiners improver.5 Edward and Mida Boon immigrated in 1911 to Eastend, RM of White Valley No. 49, Saskatchewan, Canada, from England, accompanied by Alex and Grace. Since he was not enumerated with Mida in the 02 Apr 1911 census, he may have proceeded first to Canada.1,2,3
     Edward and Mida Boon appeared on the 1916 Census of Canadian Prairie Provinces, RM of Maple Creek No. 111, Saskatchewan, enumerated 1 June 1916, described as a farmer and a Methodist, presently at Camp Hughes as a soldier. Their children Alexander and Grace were listed as living with them.3
     Edward and Mida Boon appeared on the 1921 Canadian Census of Eastend, RM of White Valley No. 49, Saskatchewan, enumerated 1 June 1921. Edward was described as an operator agent in the telephone industry. Their children Alex, Grace, Edward, Herbert and Catherine were listed as living with them.2
     In 1927,Edward and Mida moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada.1

All Around the Town
     A family reunion, the first in 17 years for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Boon of 1329 26th Ave. S.W., was held Christmas Day when 31 children and grandchildren sat down for turkey dinner at a family party in St. Mark's hall.
     The party vas in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Boon, who came to Calgary 33 years ago, and was given by their son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mr. Oscar Berube, who recently moved to Calgary from Regina. All members of the family live in the city.
     Present at the festivities were four sons and three daughters. and their children. There were Mr. and Mrs. Alec Boon and their three children, Bob, Billy and Teddy. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Berube and their six children, Una. Allan, James, Yvonne, June and Marjorie; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Boon, Jr., and their daughter. Darlene; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Boon: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Stanley and their two children, Glenda and Janice; Mr. and Mrs. James Boon and their two children, Sandra and Joyce: and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Milton and their son, Dickie.13

     In the obituary of Mida Boon who died 8 April 1959, her husband, Edward Boon, of Calgary, was listed as a survivor.14
     He was cremated on 1 February 1963 at Okanagan Crematiorium, Penticton, British Columbia, Canada.15

There is a second 1916 enumeration for Edward (36) and Mary Boon (33) in Maple Creek. Their children are Alex (12), Grace (10) and Edward (6). Herbert is not included in this enumeration. Grace and Edward's ages are significantly different. Is this a different family?16
