He was born on 21 November 1723 at Albemarle County, Virginia, USA.1 Nathaniel married Mary Hazelrigg circa 1742/43 at Albemarle County, Virginia, USA.1
Nathaniel Haggard died on 21 August 1806 at Boonsborough, Madison County, Kentucky, USA, at age 82.1
[Broderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #1510, Date of Import: Aug 28, 19 97]
LDS shows the first wife of Nathaniel to be Mary Hazelrigg and Nathaniel's first son to be Henry Hazelrigg Haggard born March 27, 1744. It shows he married his second wife, Elizabeth Gentry, in 1744. Loretta's book, Cloyd's work and David's book all indicate a marriage to Elizabeth Gentry. Loretta's book states that the date was about 1744.
Henry's second name would suggest that his mother was likely Mary Hazelrigg. It is possible that following Henry's birth in 1744 his father married Elizabeth and they had six more boys and three girls.
LDS also shows Nathaniel's father James was married twice, to an Elizabeth Gentry as well as another woman both around 1707 to 1711. It is not clear which is the mother of Nathaniel and his brothers.1

He was born circa 1677/78 at England.1
James Haggard died at Fredricksville, Virginia, USA.1
[Broderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #1510, Date of Import: Aug 28, 19 97]
James is thought to be the first Haggard to arrive in America having come from England according to research by Cloyd Haggard (CLH) and Loretta Sunderland (LS) and David Dawson Haggard's book "History of the Haggard Family in England and America 1433 to 1899" (DDH). It is believed that James arrived in Norfolk, VA about 1698 and subsequently was a school teacher.
The Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah (LDS) shows two marriages for him, one to Elizabeth Gentry about 1707 and another (no name given) before 1711. At least four sons are believed to have been born to James and his wife(s). Records indicate at least four separate families living in Virginia in the 1700's who claim to be sons of James Haggard the school teacher. They are Nathaniel, Edmund, Gray (Granville) and Zachariah. If indeed James was married around 1707 -1711 it is very likely he had more older children since Nathaniel was not born until 1723.
We are descendants of Nathaniel and the Haggards who originate from around Barriere, B.C. and are descendants of Fred L. Haggard are in turn descendants of Gray.1

He was born before 1659/60 at England.1
[Broderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #1510, Date of Import: Aug 28, 19 97]
David D. Haggard's book which was published in 1899 indicates that we are probably descendants of a Sir Andrew Ogard (Haggard), Knight, of Bradenham Castle, County Norfolk, who settled in England and was naturalized, Henry VI. (1433). Sir Andrew was apparently from a distinguished family in Denmark where the name could still be found in 1899.
Just how James Haggard, who came to America, was related to the Haggards in England is not clear. It is believed that James' father was an English Lord and since James was born about 1678, Lord Haggard would have been born in the 1650's or earlier.1
