Rockford, Ill., June 13.—Warren L. Smith, son of James Z. and Lizzie C. Smith, residing in Seward township, six miles southwest of Winnebago, died Saturday night at 11:15 o'clock at Rockford hospital.
Eight weeks ago he underwent a mastoid operation and seemed to be making a good recovery until he was attacked by spinal meningitis a week ago.
He was 27 years old and was unmarried. He was a member of Middle Creek Presbyterian church and was a young man of worth and integrity who was esteemed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alfred Bridgeland, and four brothers, Homer, Wallace, Hugh and Arthur Smith, all residing in Seward township and vicinity.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and at 2.30 o'clock at Middle Creek church, the Rev. H. P. Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.7
