The genealogy on page 122 of We Remember gives this date of death, but the 15th was a Tuesday, not a Saturday as mentioned in his obituary.2

Warren L. Smith of Seward
     Rockford, Ill., June 13.—Warren L. Smith, son of James Z. and Lizzie C. Smith, residing in Seward township, six miles southwest of Winnebago, died Saturday night at 11:15 o'clock at Rockford hospital.
     Eight weeks ago he underwent a mastoid operation and seemed to be making a good recovery until he was attacked by spinal meningitis a week ago.
     He was 27 years old and was unmarried. He was a member of Middle Creek Presbyterian church and was a young man of worth and integrity who was esteemed by all who knew him.
     Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alfred Bridgeland, and four brothers, Homer, Wallace, Hugh and Arthur Smith, all residing in Seward township and vicinity.
     Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and at 2.30 o'clock at Middle Creek church, the Rev. H. P. Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.7

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Z. Smith of Winnebago are this morning announcing the engagement and the approaching marriage of their daughter, Eleanor B., to Melvin Domres, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Domres, 3337 8th st.

The couple has chosen December's first Saturday, the 6th, as the date for their marriage, which will be solemnized in Middle Creek Presbyterian church, Winnebago. The Rev. George Swalve, Jr., will hear their vows.

The future bride, a 1948 graduate of Winnebago high school, attended the University of Dub-- for two years, where she affiliated with Gamma Phi D., social sorority. She is employed by the Medical Clinic of Rockford.

Her fiance was graduated at Shawano, Wis., high school. He is employed by Zin-Zow construction company.10
