     He was born on 12 April 1860 at Wisbecsh, Cambridgeshire, England.1 Richard married Lillie Mae McNaughton on 1 November 1899 or 4 November 1899 at Sycamore, DeKalb County, Illinois, USA. I suspect the 4th is the correct date becaause it caame from his obituary. She would have been the source for the information. The 1st is from her obituary, in which someone else provided the information.2,1
     Richard Witton Hubbard died on 9 March 1935, at his home, at Sycamore, DeKalb County, Illinois, USA, at age 74.1
     Other survivors not included in this database were his daughters: Ruth Howe, and Alice M. Hubbard, both of Chicago; and his other sons: Robert and Charles of Sycamore, Harry of Detroit and Joseph of Hollywood, California.1

R. W. HUBBARD IS TAKEN SATURDAY
     Services for Veteran Painter Here Were Being Accorded Today. — Heart Ailment Is Fatal. — Was Native of England, 74
     Funeral services were being held here this Tuesday afternoon for Richard Witton Hubbard, 74, who died Saturday afternoon at his home on Charles street after a lingering illness.
     Mr. Hubbard, long identified as a local painter and decorator here, succumbed to a heart ailment at 3:45 p. m. Saturday. He was born Apr. 12, 1860 in Wisbecsh, England and came to this country in 1890 where he went first to Chicago.
     In 1895 he moved to Sycamore and for the past 40 years had resided in this community. On Nov. 14, 1899 he was wed to Lillie Mae McNaughton here. Seven children and 10 grandchildren survive him.
     Those who mourn are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Howe and Miss Alice M. Hubbard of Chicago; five sons, Richard, Robert and Charles of Sycamore, Harry of Detroit and Joseph of Hollywood, Calif.
     Final respects were being paid this afternoon from the home at 2 p.m. and from St. John's English Lutheran church at 2:30 with Rev. H. E. Tessmann officiating. Interment was to be in Elmwood.1
