Collier Dies Tuesday From Long Illness
Mrs. Richard Valentine yesterday received word that her brother-in-law, Clayton Collier, died Tuesday afternoon in a hospital in Sioux City, Neb. He had been in poor health for several months.

He was born in Randolph, Neb., August 14, 1891. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. 0. Collier, lived here for a time later in life but Clayton was here only on visits, having remained in Nebraska most of his life. His mother was the former Elva Drake who once lived in Mayfield. His father died in Sycamore ten years ago and his mother has also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Bryan whom he married in 1919, and a fifteen year old daughter. Ruth Ellen. Funeral services were held this afternoon in Randolph, Neb. He had lived in Randolph since his marriage.3

Eugene Hubbard Injured at Work
     Eugene Hubbard, 16 year old son of the Richard Hubbards of Sycamore and who is employed by John Niewold in carpentry work received a painful leg injury Friday morning while at work on the erecting of a house in Harmony, Ill. He had been using the electric saw and when he shut the power off, his leg touched the saw before it had entirely stopped running, causing a deep laceration from the ankle to the knee. The injured young man was rushed to the St. Joseph hospital at Belvidere, where he is receiving medical care.
     His mother and sister, Mrs. William Gould of Rockford have been with him much of the time since the accident and report him resting more comfortable.4

Jess Hubbard is Given Discharge

Jess Eugene Hubbard, better known as "Curley," and son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hubbard of Sycamore, have received his honorable discharge from the navy, following four years of active duty, during which time, he has been in the harbors of 15 foreign countries. His future plans are not decided. He came home two weeks ago.

Upon his arrival, his parents and sister, Dorothy, were away on a vacation tour through several southern and southwestern states, including Corpus Christi, Texas where they visited the William Gardners, former local residents. The Gardners and they enjoyed an interesting trip into Old Mexico. In New Orleans, they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Terhune. The local family came home Sunday night and were happily surprised on being met that the door by "Curley."3
