Died, at his home in this place, Sunday morning, Dec. 1st, 1889, of general debility, after an illness of 18 days, Wm. C. Swindell, aged 79 years and 7 days. Deceased came to this county from Kentucky in 1833, settling on the farm where he was buried. He was born in Virginia in 1810, where hr grew to manhood and married Miss Murium Ford to whom six children were born, all of them -- Mrs. Dicie Ragland, Mrs. Caroline Hayden, Mrs. Sallie Hayden, Mrs. Angie Enochs Mrs. Fannie Maxey and Mr. Joel Swindell -- still living. Some time after the death of his first wife he married Miss Corrilla Noel in this county, who survives him. Deceased moved to Madison from his farm some four years ago and was a good citizen and kind neighbor. He leaves a host of relatives and friends in this part of the country to mourn his loss. The remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground on the old farm Monday, after funeral services by Eld. Jacob Hugely. Thus another of our old land marks has crossed the river. May his soul rest in peace. The Advance extends sympathy to those who mourn him.12,4
