She was born on 23 September 1913, in a home birth of twins, Ottawa, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada.1
Laura (sic) Touzel died on 25 July 1914, Killaloe, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada of diphtheria according to Ontario Death Registration 027259.2,3
The informant on her death registration was her uncle, Thomas Boland.3
Her name was recorded as Laura (sic) Touzel on her death registration.4
She was known within the family as Kareen Touzel5 ; and, Kaireen.6
In the obituary of Dr. Thomas John Mervyn Touzel who died 14 December 1991, his infant sister, Kareen Touzel, was listed as predeceased.5
In the obituary of Laura Eleanor Patton R. N. who died 12 September 1998, her sister, Kaireen, was listed as predeceased.6
The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
Confusion Reigns
Mary Kaineen Touzel and Eleanor Laure Touzel were twins born 23 Sep 1913, according to their birth registrations.
In a 1914 death registration, it is recorded that Laura died of diptheria. The informant was her uncle who may have confused the names of his twin neices, and given the wrong name to the registrar.
The obituary of their father, Thomas John Touzel, lists Laura as a surviving daughter, and does not mention her deceased twin sister.
The obituary of their brother, Thomas John Mervyn Touzel, mentions them both, with Laura surviving and "Kareen" dying as an infant sister.
So, was the wrong name enetered on the death registration (see above), or did the family like the name Laura and decided to transfer it to the surviving twin?
For the purposes of this database, I will show that Mary died, and Laura survived, and assume that the informant on the death registration provided the wrong name.7

Uncle William P. Chandler, an old landmark of Macon county, and a life long Democrat, royally entertained the Macon band boys on their return from the Jacksonville fair last Thursday evening. "Uncle Bill" as he is better known. lives near Excello and is of most hospitable one a citizens. He is ever ready to extend a helping hand and knows no other way.

save that of peace, love and charity to his fellow man. "Uncle Bill" has always been one of the leading Democrats of the county, and boasts of the fact that never scratches his ticket. The band was invited to stop with " Uncle Bill " and enjoy his hospitality.6

The following obituary appeared in the newspaper The Macon Times-Democrat published in Macon, Missouri 20 October 1904:
W. P. Chandler Dead.
Uncle Bill Chandler died at his home near Excello Friday at about 2 p. m. of heart failure. Uncle Bill had been complaining for several weeks but was taken bad suddenly and only suffered about 15 minutes. The funeral was held Sunday at Mt. Salem, conducted by the friends of Mr. Chandler. It was his request before he died that V. C. Petty of this city, have charge of his funeral services and Mr. Petty made some very appropriate remarks at the church Sunday. He was followed by Uncle Jim Howe of this city, B. F. Coulter of near Excello, and Rev. Theo. Mayhew, an old friend and pastor of the family, Mr. Chandler was not a member of any church but had many friends in the community in which he resided and had always lead an honest and upright life.
Wm. P. Chandler was the son of Wm. P. Chandler and Hester E. Chandler of Kentucky; was born November 21, 1821, in Kentucky and was educated at the Augusta University and came to Marion county, Missouri in 1836; thence to Monroe county in 1842, and to Macon. county in 1847. Was married to Eleanor R. Butler December 21, 1848, of which five children were born to this union, of which three survive him, Dr. Henry A. Chandler of McFall, Mo., Prof. J. F.      The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
The Kuhn Family History notes above that she was married three times, but can only name two of her husbands, and gets the order of their marriages reversed. I have not yet found a source confirming a third marriage. Since she married William Chandler when she was 17, I doubt if there was a previous marriage. There is a nearly six year gap between the death of W. P. Chandler, and her marriages to Henry Powell. If there was another marriage during this time, I would have expected the accounts of the her marriage to Henry to have used another surname for her.8

Henry M. Powell died on 26 July 1921, at his home, Macon, Missouri, USA at age 87.1
The following article appeared in the Macon, Missouri The Macon Times-Democrat, 23 June 1910 :
MARRIED IN EXCELLO.
Groom Has Seen the Snows of 76 Winters- The Bride Is 62.
His friends have been having lots of fun with Uncle Henry Powell for quite while, charging that he was going to get married to this and that widow, Uncle Henry Anally determined he might as. well have the game as the name so on last Sunday he sailed into Excello and there was, as the Hannibal papers say, "united in holy wedlock" to Mrs. Marion Chandler, widow of William Chandler. Uncle Henry is 76 years young, and is getting still more so every day of his life. His blushing bride is 62. Mr. and Mrs. Buck Lucas drove down to Excello for the purpose of standing up with Uncle Henry and giving him courage to go through the ordeal, but when they got down there. they found he had plenty of sand and could get along without them. Uncle Henry will have an engraved picture of himself in the Macon county history, a copy of which he will give to his bride as a wedding present.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Powell have children by former marriages, but all married and have families and interests of their own.
Uncle Henry Powell, as he is familiarly called, is one of the best keen men in Macon county. Until very recent years he has been the owner of a splendid thirteen hundred acre tract of land near this city. Much of this has been disposed of and invested otherwise but now he has a beautiful home in Macon to which he will take his wife, where they will spend the sunset days of life.4

Tuesday evening there was a grand charivari up at the Powell residence when the neighbors and friends of the newly- gathered and serenaded them with tin pans, horns, guns, etc. However, their coming had been anticipated and the groom had laid in an abundant supply of candy and cigars which he distributed with lavish hospitality. THE REPUBLICAN extends congratulations to this "young" old couple who have cast their lots together.3
