     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper The Colborne Express published in Colborne, Ontario 11 February 1937:
Hubert Mayhew
The sympathy of the community is felt for Mr and Mrs. H. J. Mayhew and family in their unexpected bereavement by the death at Rochester, N. Y., of their youngest son, Hubert Mayhew. who died Wednesday. Feb 10th. 1937, in his 32nd year. For some years deceased has been associated with the advertising staff of a Rochester daily newspaper.

The funeral takes place tomorrow, Friday afternoon.

His brother, Mr. J. Douglas Mayhew of Napanee, and sisters, Mrs. Harry S. Smith of Pembroke and Mrs. H. C. MoCutcheon of Toronto are home for the funeral.2
