     Thomas Peat appeared on the 1871 Canadian Census of Blandford Twp., Oxford County, Ontario, enumerated 2 April 1871. Thomas was enumerated as a widowed farmer. His children Jane, Charlotte, Elizabeth Ann, Thomas and James Bonner were listed as living with him.9
     Thomas Peat and Margaret appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Blandford Twp., Oxford County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901. Thomas was enumerated as a farmer and C. Presbyterian. Their children George, David, Edith J. and Sidney were listed as living with them.5
     His name was also recorded as Thomas Pate in the 1851 census.6 Thomas Peat immigrated in 1843 to Canada West, United Province of Canada, from Scotland.5 He was the informant on the death registration of his wife, Jane Peat who died on 27 October 1869.10
