Engagements
     The engagement is announced of Miss Georgina MacNachtan, youngest daughter of Major Edmund A. MacNachtan and Mrs. MarNachtan, of Toronto. to Mr. Brian W. Ireland, eldest son of the late William F. Ireland and Mrs. Ireland, of Winnipeg. The wedding will take place in Toronto, October 19.²

Mr. Brian Ireland's Marriage to Miss Georgina MacNachtan, of Toronto, Takes Place in Queen City
Bronze chrysanthemums and [t]eak leaves in brass standards brought a touch of autumn to the wedding of Emma Georgina, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund MacNachtan, of Toronto, and Brian Warren Forsyth Ireland, of Winnipeg, son of Mrs. Ireland and the late Mr. William Forsyth Ireland, which took place in the Church of the Messiah, Toronto. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Armitage.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a handsome gown of white crepe romaine and Chantilly lace. Her court train of the same materiel was bordered with seed pearls and finished at the end with a lover's knot and horseshoe of pearls.

Her veil was caught with clusters of orange blossoms and white heather. She carried an arm bouquet of Madonna lilies and maidenhair fern.

Miss Rene MacNachtan, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor and wore a long gown of sea green chiffon, with a short cocktail jacket. Her hat was a French felt model to match. She carried a bouquet of orchid chrysanthemums. Mrs. Wm. VanFleet, also sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a similar frock of yellow chiffon, with a yellow felt hat and a bouquet bronze chrysanthemums.

The groom was attended by Mr Wynne Huxley, of Winnipeg. and the ushers were: Mr. Wm. C. Vanfleet, of Los Angeles: Mr. Donald Ireland, brother of the groom; Mr. Herbert Fowler. and Mr. Edward Bird, of Detroit.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs R. F. Davison.

Later, the bride and groom left for a trip to New York and Atlantic city, the bride travelling in a platinum crepe de chene frock, with a black broadcloth coat, a platinum fox fur, the gift of the groom, and a platinum felt hat. On their return they will reside in Winnipeg.

Mrs. MacNachtan mother of the bride, wore a black lace gown, with black felt hat, and silver fox fur. She carried Richmond roses and valley lilies.

Mrs. Ireland, mother of the groom, wore a handsome gown of black lace, made in princess style, with black felt and silver fox fur.¹

Brian retired in 1963 from the United Grain Growers where he had worked for 42 years. His death registration gives his occupation as Insurance Manager. Brian and Georgina had lived in Victoria for 4 years at the time of his death.³
