A quiet wedding took place Third Avenue Church manse, Saskatoon when Gladys Mary Doig younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Doig of Delisle was united in marriage to George Gessell, youngest son of Mr. and Mis. William Gessell of Saskatoon.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, looked lovely in a street-length crepe dress of queen's blue with black accessories and wore a corsage of roses. The matron of honor, Mrs. John Gessell, was attractively dressed in a blush rose sheer dress and wore a corsage of Chrysanthemums and carnations. Mr. John Gessell was his brother's attendant
Rev. G. Stanley Packham performed the ceremony, following which a reception was held in the Blossom Room of the Gem Cafe. The table was centred with a four-tiered wedding cake. The guests included the parents of the bride and groom, Mrs. Harold Oakes, sister of the groom, Joan Oakes, both of Waseca, Phyllis and Mavis Gessell of Delisle.

The couple will reside at Delisle.3

GESSELL
THE DEATH OF WILLIAM Gessell, aged 81 years, of 332 Avenue K, north, occurred at his home on May 20. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. G. Stanley Packham. Surviving are his widow; four sons, John and George of Delisle, Leon, and Gilbert of Noranda, Que; and one daughter, Mrs. Harold Oaks, Maidstone, Sask. The late Mr. Gessell farmed in North Dakota for seven years prior to coming to homestead in the Delisle district in 1907. He had resided in Saskatoon for the past wight years. Interment will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery.2
