It was with much sadness that Newcastle friends learned last week of the death of Etta Toms, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Toms, Newcastle; and beloved wife of Mr. Andrew Moffatt. She has lived nearly all.her married life in Oshawa. but about six months ago, when deceased was suffering from an incurable malady, the family came back to her old home in Newcastle, owned and occupied by her brother, Mr. Arthur Toms, where she died on Monday, Aug. 28. The funeral was held from the home on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 30th., and as Newcastle clergymen were away on vacation, Rev. A. S. Kerr of Bowmanville conducted the service. Besides her husband, deceased, who (sic) was also a sister of Mr. Herb. Toms of this village, is survived by two sons. Norman and Alex.1
