     He was born on 20 February 1894 at Sidney, RM of North Norfolk, Manitoba, Canada, according to the Manitoba Birth Registration index: 1894,006958.2,6,3,7,8 Alternatively, he was born on 20 February 1893 at Ontario, Canada, according to the 1901 census, but other reliable sources support 1894 year of birth.9 Robert married Minnie Jemima Shepherd on 29 June 1926 at Turtle Mountain, Manitoba, Canada, according to the Manitoba Marriage Registration index: 1926-026482.1,10,8
     He died on 27 July 1970 at age 76.8 Robert George Moffat was buried at Killarney Cemetery, Killarney, Municipality of Killarney-Turtle Mountain, Manitoba, Canada.8,11

     Robert George Moffat began military service on 2 June 1916 at the age of 22 at Camp Hughes, Manitoba, CanadaG, with regimental number: 217030. At the time of enlistment, he was an active member of the 100th Battalion (Winnipeg Grenadiers).2 On 9 September 1916 Robert George Moffat wrote his will leaving all to his mother, Louise Moffatt.2 Sapper Robert George Moffat ended military service as part of general demobilization on 7 May 1919 at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, after serving in England and France.

     In the obituary of Richard Moore Stacey who died 12 April 1951, Brother-in-law and pall bearer, Robert George Moffat was listed as a survivor.12 Robert George Moffat was listed as a survivor in the obituary of Arthur Clayton Moffat who died 11 January 1968.13,14,15
