Worked in the shoe business. Started with Agnes-Surpass in London, then worked with Clapps (one customer was Mrs. McLaughlin from Oshawa (of McLaughlin car fame)). Worked for Fosters and then Kidds selling corrective shoes. He travelled for Dr. Scholls fitting nurses shoes in hospitals around Ontario. Was with Eaton's for years and was a Manager of the Hudson Bay shoe department, for whom he travelled often to Montreal. Had a girl friend, Mary Biller. Doug had had appentisitis and died of a heart attack in 1963.2
