     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper the Times Herald published in Port Huron, Michigan 18 December 1973 :
St. Clair - Frederick W. Mau, 86, formerly of 5535 Puttygut Road, died Monday in Faith Medical Care Facility after a long illness.

He was born Jan. 31, 1887, in St. Clair. He and Josephine L. Lutz, Detroit, were married Dec. 4, 1919. She died July 22, 1962.

Mau was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a carpenter at Chris-Craft Corporation, Algonac, for many years, retiring in 1957.

He is survived by four sons, Richard Mau, Flint, John Mau, Tampa, Florida, Albert Mau, Owosso, and Walter Mau, Los Angeles, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Kummer, Santa Monica, Calif., 12 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Minnamen, St. Clair.

The remains will be in the Jay Street Colonial Chapel Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Rev. Paul Reyelts, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
