     David was born on 22 November 1815 in Johnstone, Scotland.1 David married Elizabeth Dobie in February 1848 in Lochmaben, Scotland, possibly.2 David Halliday was buried in 1873, possibly at Johnstone in Scotland.1,3 He died in 1873 in Johnstone.4

1851, this family were in Oakbank. 1870-1871, David was in Panlands. 1881, in Panlands were a James, Margaret and David Halliday with their cousin, Peter and listed in Valuation Rolls as representatives of Mrs Halliday there. By 1893-4, is the above Christopher in the farm ?4

     Ninian was born on 12 March 1818 in Johnstone, Scotland.1 Ninian married Mary Jamieson on 2 April 1848 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.3 He died on 31 May 1908 in Lochmaben, Scotland, at age 90.1

May, 1908 at Lochmaben, testate. confirmation was granted at Dumfries 1st September to William Jamieson Halliday Esthwaite, Lochmaben, and William Halliday, Cairndhu, Ranfurly, Bridge of Weir, Executors named in will or deed dated 9/11/1887 and recorded with another writ at Dumfries 31/8/1908. value of estate = £ 989 9s 6d.

In 1881, Ninian, his wife and William were in Princes St. in Lochmaben - William was recorded as an umemployed Sugar planter - by the time his father died, he was in a place called Esthwaite in Lochmaben.1
