Mary was born circa 1860 in Illinois, USAG.1
The following biographical information is from my personal research, 23 December 1880:
Is this the same Mary Smith, 22, married Dec. 23, 1880, Robert J Whitbeck, 22?
They are referenced on page 107 of the Smith Family information that Patricia (Tebow) Williams sent to me on Nov. 30, 2002.

According to the Ruth Family Tree published in Ancestry.com, they are not the same person. Mary Christine Smith (11 Dec 1859 - 4 Feb 1943) was the daughter of James Smith (born in 1828) and Abigail (Abbie) Wilson (born in 1839.)4
