Raymond R. Curry, former Holdrege High student was one of four men selected for enlistment in the United States navy from this district.
Curry, who had gone to Hastings trict. enlist, left Wednesday for Council Bluffs with John H. Guest, Hastings recruiting officer. The others accepted for enlistment were, J. W. Behrens of Grand Island, D. L. Meyers of Hendley and C. P. Pfeiffer of St. Libory.
They will take final examinations at Council Bluffs. If found physically and mentally qualified, they will be enlisted and given a twelve weeks' course of training at San Diego, California, before being detailed to course of instruction at one of the trade. schools or assigned to duty aboard.8
