William Leonard Pelfrey died on 14 January 1934 at Precinct 6, Whitharral, Hockley County, Texas, USA, at age 76. The informant was Elmer Pelfry.4,8 The informant on his death registration was Elmer Pelfry who was possibly his son. His wife was identified as Loue Pelfrey. The informant gave William's birth location as North Carolina which is not consistent with earlier sources such as census material. However, he also didn't know the names of William's parents so apparently was not well informed.4,8 The cause of his death was given as chronic nephritis from a fractured hip.4,8
