Christian enlisted in Co "C" 29th Ga (Georgia) Battalion Cavalry and served untill (sic) captured at or near Savanah(sic ), Ga on 12th day of December 1864. (Note by Rick Moffat - this was two days after Sherman's army arrived at Savannah.) And lay in prison untill (sic) August 1865. Enlisted in 1861. 12 months we served the time out. We reenlisted for the war and served as above stated.
