Canadian Military Service:

     John Ferguson began military service on 10 February 1917 at the age of 28 years, 8 months and 16 days at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as a gunner in the 67th Depot Battery.2
     On 24 April 1917, he embarked to England.2
     On 1 June 1918, he was mobilized to France.2
     On 9 October 1918, at France, he was wounded while serving in the area of Cambrai. He received a gun shot wound to his right wrist that also fractured the radius. Pieces of bone were left in the wound, limiting mobility. He was evacuated to England and subsequently invalided to Canada.2 John Ferguson ended his military service on 16 July 1919 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, discharged as medically unfit due to debility related to his wound.
