Mrs. Myrtle Beck, wife of Charles Beck, of near Logan, died at her home Thursday evening, Nov. 20, after a few hours illness.
Mrs. Beck was the daughter of James and Mabel Sykes. She was born at Bright, Ind., May 2, 1897, and was 33 years, 6 months and 18 days of age.
Her early life was spent in her native village where she attended the public school and the M.E. Sunday school and church. At the age of two and one half years her mother died. Later her father again married and she was reared by her stepmother, Mrs. Flora Sykes.
July 31, 1918, she was united in marriage with Charles Beck. To this union were born six children, three brothers and three daughters.
Surviving are the husband, two sons Clyde James Beck and Donald Charles Beck; two daughters Ella Jean Beck and Wilma Louise Beck; two brothers Earl Sykes and Robert Sykes; one sister Bonnie Sykes; her father James Sykes; stepmother Mrs. Flora Sykes; father-in-law John Beck; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
