     Evelyn Pearl Pritchard was buried on 7 January 1998 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, STACEY: Evelyn Pearl Stacey of Brandon passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 1997 at the Assiniboine Centre. Evelyn was born August 18, 1916, the eldest daughter of Jack and Violet Pritchard, and was raised in Holmfield, MB. Following her marriage to G. Edward Stacey they lived at various locations before settling in Killarney, MB in 1944. After their move to Brandon in 1956, Evelyn went back to school, completing a secretarial and bookkeeping course with her daughter. Over the years she was employed at Cartwright and Killarney Creameries and in Brandon at Western Motors, Brandon Son and Dunwoody & Co., enjoying and taking great pride in her work. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Eddie, her father and mother, brothers Garnet and Evans Pritchard and sister-in-law Doris Towns. One of her greatest joys in life besides her many friends was family; both Pritchards and Staceys and in later years the May family. She is lovingly remembered by her family: daughter Donna (Hugh May) of Brandon; granddaughter Lisa (Bob Sanders) of Guelph, ON; grandsons Stacy May, Tony May (Sharlene) and Doug May (Rose) all of Brandon; granddaughter Erin May of Jasper, AB; and great-grandchildren Brandon and Caitlin Sanders, Devin and Derek May and Emma, Tove and Liam May. Also surviving are: brother Elmer Pritchard (Elsie) of Kenora, ON; sisters Dorothy Black (Jim) of Miami, MB and Mabel Agar (Bill) of Clear Lake, MB; sisters-in-law Bessie Towns (Orville) of Killarney, Gwen Trott (Don) of Brandon, Pearl Towns (Frank) of Langley, BC; brother-in-law Gordon Stacey (Ruby) of Killarney and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. By Evelyn's express wish, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at 2 p.m. with Mona Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, friends who desire may make memorial contributions to a charily of their choice. The family wish to express appreciation and thanks to Mom's special friend, Hazel McCorquodale, for her caring and companionship.¹
     Evelyn the eldest daughter married Edward Stacey in 1939. They lived south of Holmfield for a time where their only daughter Donna was born, then in Elm Creek and in Cartwright. Eddie joined the RCAF and served overseas. Upon his return in February 1946 they lived in Killarney where Eddie worked in building construction including Holmfield School. Evelyn worked for Killarney Creamery then operated by Lorne Shew felt. Moving to Brandon in 1956 Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1980. Ed is retired, spends time helping Legion and curling. Their daughter Donna, her husband Hugh May and their five children: Lisa, Stacey, Tony, Douglas and Erin also reside in Brandon.²
