     MAQUOKETA, Ia., July 8. — (Special) Ethan B. Allen, 73, retired merchant, died at 3:10 a. m, today of heart trouble. He was taken ill at 5 p. m. yesterday. Mr. Allen was born in Maquoketa, May 26, 1859, and was graduated from the Maquoketa high school in 1874. He studied law and then for many years was in busines (sic) in Maquoketa. He married Mary Elizabeth Duffin Dec. 6, 1884. She died Jan. 4, 1927.
     George Lyons, half brother of Mr. Allen, died recently in Philadelphia and burial took place here Wednesday.
     Mr. Allen was a Mason and Odd Fellow and was also a member of the American Pioneer society, tracing his ancestry to John Hall who came to America in 1630.
     Two sons, Neville and Walter of Charles City, and two grandsons, Billy and Walter, jr., survive.3
