AUTUMN WEDDING AT WATERFORD SATURDAY
     Baptist and United Congregations Held Joint Service[:CR:]     WATERFORD, Oct. 3.—A very pretty wedding took place in Waterford, Saturday, Sept. 28, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Rathwell, when their youngest daughter, Irene, became the bride Mr. Orme Moffatt, youngest son Mr. and of Mrs. David Moffatt. Oshawa. At three o'clock, to the strains of the Mendelssohn wedding march, played by Miss Audrey Werry Oshawa, the bridal party took its place, in the living room, under an arch trimmed with autumn leaves and banked with asters and ferns.
     The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, looked charming in a dainty gown of white georgette. She wore a veil and carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses. She was attended by her sister. Mary, who wore orchid georgette and carried roses. The groom was assisted sunburst, his brother, Mr. Meredith Moffatt.
     Owing to the illness of their own pastor, the ceremony was performed by Rev. T. Frears of the Baptist church, Waterford. During the signing of the register Miss Erima Smith of Niagara Falls sang "Because," by Teschemacher, very sweetly. A dainty buffet lunch was served by the bride's friends. The bride's table was very pretty with its silver candlesticks and decorations of pink and white.
     The happy couple left amid a shower of confetti for a motor trip to Detroit and Nashville, Tenn. The bride travelled in a sand id brown ensemble with shoes. gloves and hat to match. She wore a brown fox fur, which was the gift of the groom. The gift to the bridesmaid was A silver vanity and change purse, to the pianist and soloist, silver beed vases and to the groomsman gold cuff links. Guests were present from Oshawa, Kitchener, Niagara Falls and Varna. Mr. and Mrs. Moffffatt (sic) will reside in Toronto.7

     In the obituary of Orme Solomon Moffatt who died 12 January 1992, hiswife, the former Irene Annie Letitia Rathwell, was listed as a survivor.2
