Raglan Reeve Honoured At Opening
Raglan Township Reeve Elmer Krieger, who retires at the end of the month, was honoured at the official opening of the Palmer Rapids Arena hall Friday night.
The new hall was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony following the first official function, a hunter's supper.
Reeve Krieger noted the $135,000 hall, and the approximate total of $500,000 spent so far on the hall and arena has been done without cost to the ratepayers.
"We've had different townships take a look at this, at how things were handled," said Reeve Krieger. "They've all marvelled (sic) at how things were done.
"We appreciate having this facility. This is one of the things that kept me on council for the last term. I wanted to be part of it."
The reeve said the recreation committee have (sic) done an excellent job over the years.11
