Laura Kuhn died on 5 August 1960 at Miller Nursing Home, Gardenville, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA, at age 85. The informant was Laura L. Kuhn.2,10
The following selected information is extracted from her obituary.
She was also known as Laura Dora Kuhn on her son Eugene's birth registration in 1908.11 Her name was also recorded as Lydia Hilgeman in the 1900 census.5
Laura appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of St. Louis, Missouri in the household of her parents, Edward and Mary Hilgeman.6
Laura Matilda Hilgeman appeared on the 1900 U.S. Federal Census of St. Louis, Missouri, in the household of James H and Addie Eisenhour.5
The following analysis is from my personal research and reflects my attempts to consolidate information from different sources.
August F. and Laura Kuhn appeared on the 1910 U.S. Federal Census of Averyville, Richwoods Twp., Peoria County, Illinois, enumerated 18 April 1910, described as a grinder of razors, etc.. Their children: August E., Richard A., Willard E. and Frederick E., were listed as living with them. His sister-in-law, Lilly Hilgeman was also included in the household as a boarder. Laura had given birth to 4 children, all living at the time of the census.4
August F. and Laura Kuhn appeared on the 1920 U.S. Federal Census of St. Louis, Missouri, enumerated 13 January 1920 Their children: August E., Richard A., Willard, Eugene, Margarette, Frederick, Laura and Paul, were listed as living with them.3

Their children: August E., Richard, William, Eugene, Margarite, Frederick, Laura and Paul, were listed as living with them. His sister-in-law, Lillie Hilgeman, was included in the household.7 Laura Kuhn was the informant on the death registration of her husband, August F. Kuhn, who died on 28 June 1935.8
In the obituary of August F. Kuhn who died 28 June 1935, his wife, the former Laura Hilgeman, was listed as a survivor.13
Laura Kuhn appeared on the 1940 U.S. Federal Census of St. Louis, Missouri, 4112 Burgen Avenue, enumerated 8 April 1940, described as a widow, working as a machine operator at an Envelope Company. Her children: Marguerite, Paul and Laura, were listed as living with her. Her daughter-in-law, Hedwig Kuhn; and her sister, Lillian Hilgemann were also included in the household. Note that Laura was married and her surname was Furri. According to the census, they all lived in the same house in 1935, but in the case of Hedwig, this may be incorrect.14
Laura Kuhn, the groom's mother, was referenced in an article about the wedding of Eugene F. Kuhn and Josephine Crim published on 29 January 1948 at the newspaper the Moberly Monitor-Index.15
See the footnotes below for a link to her obituary that appeared in the newspaper the St. Louis Post-Dispatch published in St. Louis, Missouri, 7 August 1960.16
She was cremated on 8 May 1970 at Missouri Crematory, St. Louis, Missouri, USA, according to her death certificate.2,16
Laura Kuhn died on 5 August 1960 at Miller Nursing Home, Gardenville, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA, at age 85. The informant was Laura L. Kuhn.2,10
The following selected information is extracted from her obituary.
Survivor(s): Marguerite Jordan, Laura Furri, August E. Kuhn, Richard A. Kuhn, Willard Kuhn, Frederick Kuhn and Paul Kuhn. Predeceased by her husband, August F. Kuhn.2
The cause of her death was given as Chronic Myocarditis and generalized Arteroclerosis, with Bronchial Pneumonia.2She was also known as Laura Dora Kuhn on her son Eugene's birth registration in 1908.11 Her name was also recorded as Lydia Hilgeman in the 1900 census.5
In the 1880 census, Edward W Hilgeman and his wife Mary only have three children enumerated. They were: Lilly, Laura and William.
Therefore, the Lydia Hilgeman enumerated in 1900 as a boarder in a household, along with siblings Lillie and William must be Laura.12
