Census Data
Archibald and Kate Smith appeared on the 1905 State Census of Buffalo, Erie County, New York, Ward 24, enumerated 1 June 1905, a mortgage broker. Their daughter Susan was listed as living with them. His sister-in-law, Libbie Peck was included in the household.4He was commonly known as Arch Smith.2
The following article appeared in the Buffalo, New York Buffalo Courier, 7 March 1886 :

Buffalo friends have received the wedding cards of Mr. Archibald C. Smith of this city and Miss Kate C. Richmond (sic) of Independence, Iowa. The wedding occurred at Independence, Iowa, Wednesday, March 3. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Smith will be at home after April 15, at 201 North Pearl street, Buffalo.3

Ancestry transcribe's his name on his second marriage registration as Arch O. Smith, but his initial is the same as Kate's initial (which is a C in other sources), and is the same as the C in Canada, elsewhere in the registration.2
