     The following article appeared in the Sycamore, Illinois The True Republican, 4 August 1937 :
Saturday, July 31, at three p.m., the wedding of Miss Edith Cornwall of this city and William Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gardner, also of Sycamore, was quietly solemnized at the Methodist parsonage in St. Charles with the Rev. Stephenson officiating. The bride was attractively attired in a blue ensemble with white accessories and wore a corsage of larkspur and baby breath. After the service they went to Chicago for a brief honeymoon. They will make their home for the present with the groom's parents.6

     In the obituary of William C. Gardner who died 31 May 2005, her wife, Edith Elizabeth Cornwall, was listed as predeceased.1
