Well Known Local Young Man Succumbed to Double Pneumonia.
WELL LIKED BY ALL
William Fuller, son of Commissioner Frank Fuller, one of the best known young man (sic) of this community, passed away at the Fuller homestead a few minutes after one o'clock today, after a hard struggle for life. The patient had been in a precarious condition for several days past, and made a hard fight for his life. Fuller was taken ill about ten days ago, with influenza. and his Illness did not develop into pneumonia until a few days ago, and from that time forward his life was despaired of. Medical attention was constant, and everything possible was done to prolong his life but without avail.
William Fuller was born on the Fuller homestead about two and one-half miles south of town 29 years ago, and had always lived on the farm. Six years ago he was married to Miss Mattie Holland, and at the time of their marriage, the young people were allowed the operation of the farm, which had been most successful. To Mr. and Mrs. Fuller there were born three children, Russell. Rodney and Donald, who with the mother, mourn deeply the untimely death of the young man. who has always been a good husband and father..
Other relatives surviving the deceased are his father. Commissioner of Highways Frank Fuller, nine sisters and one brother, in addition to a large number of other relatives, and scores upon scores of friends who were grieved at the news of his passing, The sisters, surving (sic) are Mrs. Clayton Phelps, Rockford; Mrs. Pearl McGuire, Rockford; Mrs. Fred Barickman, Rockford; Mrs. Robert Newcomer, and Mrs. Ray Lattlmer of DeKalb, Mrs. Russell Pyper of Adeline. Mrs. Della Jones of Chicago, and the Misses Rachel and Laura Fuller of Chicago. A brother, Vincent Fuller, a member of Company A, 129th infantry, now in Luxemburg, will be grieved at the death of his only brother.
Fuller was one of the most widely known young men of the vicinity. was classed as "a good fellow" which implies much, and he will be sadly missed in many of the undertakings staged in the future. DeKalb people by the hundreds extend sincerest sympathy to the mother and children and other relatives in their darkest hour.
Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.6

Newcome -- Fuller
A VERY PRETTY WEDDING LAST NIGHT IN CHICAGO,
In Which DeKalb People are Interested.
Last evening, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Merrill 828 Walnut street Chicago, occurred the wedding of Miss Ella Eona Fuller, to Robert Bruce Newcomer, in the presence of about thirty relatives and intimate friends.
The house was beautifully decorated with flowers and vines, and to the bay window amid palms and white blossom, the young couple marched to' the strains of Mendelsohn's wedding march, played by Miss Hazel Kennedy of this city, a cousin of the bride, and here they plighted their faith, Rev. Flack, pastor of the Garfield M. E. church, performing the ring marriage ceremony.
The bride was very dainty in her wedding gown of cream net, trimmed with valencennes lace and gold apllique (sic), carrying a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley.
The. Bridesmaid, Miss Ella Wright was dressed in lemon colored organdy over yellow silk with aplique trimmings.
Al. Smith of This city was best man for the groom, both of whom were in evening suits.
Ferna Merrill and Meta Haugwaard were in pink and blue liberty satin, and made a pretty picture as they preceded the bride and groom, making an aisle of white ribbon.
Matter Jack Pendergras, dressed in white, was ring bearer, and little Dorothy Mook strewed flowers in the path of the bridal procession.
After the wedding ceremony and congratulations the company repaired to tie dining room, which was done in pink and green, smilax ropes hung from the chandelier to the four corners of the table, and a profusion of pink carnations---
A menu was served of:, ---
There were beautiful and costly gifts, showing the esteem in which these young people are held.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. Frank Fuller of this city, having made her home with her aunt since her mother's death. She is a sensible little woman, capable and a good housekeeper, which qualities will make a most companionable woman for the man of her choice.
The groom, Robert Newcomer, has been employed as foreman of the newspaper department with the J. F. Glidden Pub. Co. for over five years, and every man, woman and child who know him have words of praise for the happy disposition of the young man. Always bubbling over with fun, kindly words for all, free of bad habits, this young man has no enemies.
Mr. and Mrs. Newcomer have the heartiest congratulations of all who know them.
A short wedding trip will be made to Rockford, and at Leaf River Saturday evening a reception will be given them by his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Ackey. They will return to DeKalb Sunday evening and be guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Kennedy until a suitable house can be found for housekeeping.7
