MRS. CLIFFORD SINE
There passed away at her home on Pine Street, on Friday evening, a highly esteemed citizen of Gananoque in the person of the former Annie White, wife of Clifford Sine. Although Mrs. Sine had been in failing health for some time, her sudden death came as a distinct, shock to her many friends.

Deceased was born at Collingwood, a daughter of Thomas B. White and his wife, the former Martha Smith. She graduated from Toronto General Hospital in 1892 and after following her professional trend for three years was united in marriage to Clifford- Sine, druggist, at Clarksburg, Ont. After leaving Clarksburg Mr. and Mrs. Sine lived at Cobden, later coming to Gananoque where they had resided for the past forty years.

Their marriage was blessed with three children. The first child died in infancy and the second child, Wilfred White Sine, and only son, passed away during his second year at the University of Toronto. Their daughter, Miss Phyllis Sine, teacher of the Kindergarten classes at Bancroft, Ont., was with her mother at the time of her death.

The late Mrs. Sine was an active member of Grace United Church and was associated with the W.A. and the W.M.S. of the church as well as the King's Daughters of which she was an outstanding promoter. She was affiliated with the Gananoque Horticultural Society and was always a great lover of flowers and plants.

In addition to her husband, deceased is survived by one daughter, Miss Phyllis Sine, and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Moffat, of Asquith, Saskatchewan, and one brother, Robert H. White, of Frobisher, Saskatchewan She was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers.

The funeral took place from her late residence on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Service was conducted by Rev. H. D. McCuaig, pastor of Grace United Church. During the service Mrs. A. Knight and Mrs. W. J. Kelly sang as a duet "In the Garden" with Miss E. deLong:presiding at the piano for the accompaniment. Interment took place in the family plot at Gananoque Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were: Robert Black, W. J. Kelly, Douglas Matthew, J. F. McGuire, E. P. McLennan, Calvin Robeson, J. F. McFarlane and W. J. Wilson. Active pallbearers were: H. Bishop, J. Caldback, Dr. J. C. Mabee, G. A. Scott, Ernest Walmsley, George Whaley. The many floral tributes and other expressions of sympathy bore testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held.

It becomes our painful duty this week to record the demise of Mrs. John Johnston of Kolapore, after an illness of only a few days. She was the daughter of the late T. B. White, whose sudden death a few years ago startled the whole community and filled it with regret.
Mrs. John Johnston was a woman of bright and cheerful disposition, tireless energy and complete forgetfulness of self when the sick were to be nursed or a friend needed her assistance. Many a sick room in the vicinity of her home will in the future ,miss her presence and ministering care. By her genial disposition she endeared herself to all who had the privilege of her acquaintance. Having had a great deal of sickness in her own family, it is no doubt greatly due to her own tireless nursing that she has been able, so far, to have kept the family circle complete.
There survive her, her mother, Mrs. T. B White of Collingwood, three sisters-Miss Myrtle White of Collingwood, Mrs. Wm. Johnston of Thornbury, and Mrs. Clifford Sine of Cobden;also five brothers-Messrs. T. B. White of Kolapore, George P. White of Idaho, Jas. L. White of Duncan, E. F. White of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert H. White of Napinka, Man. and Bert White of Rochester, N.Y. She leaves, besides her sorrowing husband, 5 children,-Misses Sophia, Ethel, Mabel and Rhoda and Master Rob.
To the bereaved ones, we, in common with the whole community, extend our most sincere sympathy.. Hereinafter cited as Thornbury Herald and Grey Report.
